This plugin lets you control how players communicate by switching between Global, Local, and Lockdown chat modes, with Local mode using a configurable distance to determine who can see nearby messages and Lockdown allowing only private messages while blocking public chat and non-exempt commands. Configuration is simple: the config.yml stores the current chat mode, the local chat range, and a list of exempt commands, all of which the plugin loads automatically on startup and saves whenever you change modes with /chatmode. Server owners can edit the config directly or use /chatmode <mode> [range] to update settings in-game, and players are notified of the active mode when joining so they always know how chat is restricted.
