SimpleChatModes Plugin Overview:

Chat Modes:

Global: Everyone sees all messages, no restrictions.

Local: Messages are only visible to players within a configurable range (default 50 blocks).

Lockdown: Public chat and non-exempt commands are blocked; only private messages (whispers) are allowed. You can configure the commands that will work in config.yml. Default allowed commands are /msg and /chatmode commands

Configuration (config.yml):

chat-mode: Sets the default chat mode (GLOBAL, LOCAL, LOCKDOWN).

local-chat-range: Distance in blocks for Local mode visibility. If you want a one time change simply do /chatmode local [range]

local-mode-exempt-commands: List of commands that bypass Local or Lockdown restrictions (e.g., msg, chatmode).

Commands:

/chatmode <global|local|lockdown> [range] – Switch chat mode and optionally set Local mode range.

Only players with OP or simplechatmodes.admin permission can run commands.

Features:

Automatically informs joining players of the current chat mode.

Distance-based message delivery in Local mode.

Persistent configuration saved across restarts.

Lightweight and compatible with Paper and Spigot servers.
